Rats hate it. You’ll love it.
Rats, your days of sidewalk supremacy are over. Meet “The Janklet”, the bold new rat-defender designed to help New Yorker's strut through the city without fear of a furry surprise. Equally street-smart and stylish, the Janklet lets you walk with confidence and flair– perfect for anyone fed up with NYC’s rat problem.
The Janklet is more than just another accessory– it’s a solution. Rats make high-pitched squeaks as alarm calls or to express discomfort. So we designed the Janklet to mimic these high-pitched sounds.
Each anklet has four 3D-printed bells cast in a beautiful brass finish, crafted by Daniel Jewelry Casting. The amazing craftsmanship helped us bring our idea to life with a distinctive look that is both eye-catching and effective at keeping rats away.
To introduce the Janklet, we hit the streets to interview real New Yorker's, capturing their hilariously honest rat encounters (because what New Yorker doesn’t have a rat story?!). Through suspense, humor, and a touch of urban grit, we showcased the rat problem in NYC while proving the Janklet’s brilliance lies in its simplicity.
Partnering with NYC-based photographer Sophie Ming and model Cassie Daly, we created scroll-stopping visuals assets that captured the essence of lower Manhattan, while also showcasing the Janklet in all of its jingling glory.
Finally, we had some fun with a fully AI-generated short film, The Life of Frank the Rat. The film humorously depicts the life of Frank and his buddies, and how the Janklet turned their NYC paradise into a thing of the past.
Take that, you fxxcking rats!
