Celebrating 750 Years of Love Stories.

In October 2025, Amsterdam celebrated its 750th birthday. To mark this special occasion, we helped Hinge, the dating app designed to be deleted, launch a limited edition map of the city: A City Full of Love Stories.

To create the map, we worked with Dutch illustrator Bodil Jane to bring it to life in her signature style, featuring twelve locations that tell stories of love and connection from the past, and places where new love stories begin every day. Each story is a love letter to Amsterdam, brought together in this special map to celebrate the city’s big day.

At SuperHeroes, we believe real connection and self-expression are essential to any campaign, which fits perfectly with Hinge’s brand and how they help people find love. The app does this through expressive prompts that spark honest conversations, making it easier to turn matches into meaningful relationships.

We brought these prompts into the map, sparking real love stories tied to famous Amsterdam locations. Some stories are iconic, others are surprising discoveries even for locals. Like the Flower Bike Man “My love language is Acts of Service” where one sweet gesture bloomed into a citywide symbol of love. Or at Saskia’s Tomb “I could stay up all night talking about” how a single sunbeam honours enduring love every year.

Hinge users added these prompts and answers to their own profiles to celebrate the city’s birthday, so now the city known for inspiring the world is inspiring Hinge profiles too.

We printed the map and gave it to well known Dutch content creators to go out and explore for themselves. It also lived online for everyone to discover, making it a complete 360 social campaign.

We even sent a copy to Amsterdam’s Mayor to help her find love. A celebration of the city and the people past and present who have found connection within the ring.
