OK, BUT HOW?
We took on the challenge to humanize a low involvement product like energy. It needed a friendly face. Someone with a sense of humor who could point out the hysteria going on around energy contracts.
Based on our sequential storytelling approach, we launched a variety of little stories around a remarkable character called Klaas.
He’s a man of few words who simplifies complicated questions and shows how energiedirect.nl breaks with illogical conventions. Why is buying solar panels so complicated? Who pays for that expensive welcoming gift? Generating energy from cows? Really? The TVC’s, online video’s and messages are short, funny, simple and fast.
YOU DON’T WANNA SKIP
Did we say energy is a low involvement thing? We sure did. But that didn’t stop us from creating lengthy pre-rolls that will challenge you not to hit the skip button. Tempting, huh?
THE REGELNEEF APP
Part of our digital approach was the naming, branding and launch of Energiedirect.nl’s very own service app. We called it “Regelneef“. A household name that raises a smile with Dutch people of all generations. Thanks to its ease-of-use, numerous amounts of downloads and positive reviews it got nominated for a Dutch Interactive Award.
In three years time, brand awareness has grown tremendously, making energiedirect.nl a steady player in the top of this crowded market.
In order to put emphasis on the user friendly traits of energiedirect.nl, we made use of sequential storytelling. By launching a variety of different videos we were able to keep the content short and simple.
